FORECAST
DISCUSSION: Our DeKalb campus is currently under the influence of high pressure ridge...this pattern should continue through Monday. The influence of high pressure ridge will cause our maximum temperature to reach middle 50s for today and tomorrow, which is above our normal in mid-November. We should see a lot of sunshine during the day through Monday!
A surface high pressure over east Ohio brings light southeasterly winds to our forecast area...and it should move northeastward as time progresses. No rain is anticipated through Monday. However, abundant moisture from the south may introduce fog in some areas during early Sunday morning given that wind speeds should be weak tonight.
Some mid-level disturbances should occur over northern Illinois from Tuesday morning through through Thursday, which may bring some precipitation during this time...given that the moisture level seems to be sufficient to cause some wet conditions. Very cold air may approach our area on Thursday, which may introduce a mix of light rain and snow.
The GFS indicates dry conditions for Friday and Saturday and slight disturbance on Sunday. However, the conditions for the next weekend is still uncertain for now.
